Hope everythings fine where ever you may be. Day 5 of the Thailand tour has nearly finished and tomorrow we are moving on up to Udon Thani. Yesterday we spent some time on the beach and then we hired a tuk tuk for the afternoon and hit the Ban Chang Safari Park, fed some elephants (I did,
Wonderful Wi was too scared, very apprehensive myself but you just gotta do it.) and then saw a baby elephant put on a show, dancing, bowing, spinning a hoop and for the finale (drum roll) giving a massage to people with her trunk and lastly with her massive feet. From there we moved up into the hills into a village with a beautiful temple and the entire place was inhabited with hundreds of monkeys.
In the evening we visited the biggest shopping mall in Hua Hin the Village Market (very up market) and then went to a local night market to eat. Night markets are a very big part of the Thai social life, buzzing with people shopping and alive with the noise and social chatter of the locals and tourists alike eating at the many open air stalls and restaurants.
Today was much more sedate just the beach and again the night market (although a different one). The resort has been hit with a heatwave for this time of year with temperatures approaching the high thirties and I am expecting (perhaps hoping) things to be a little cooler in the north east tomorrow.
We have really enjoyed our time in Hua Hin but in the morning we must catch a taxi to Bangkok and an afternoon flight to Udon Thani. Hope your days just as exciting, Hoo Don.
