Catherine – I wish I had worked in the oil industry, I’ve met many folk in Pattaya who have and they have the sweet smell of money. Being a city boy may I offer that as an excuse for not understanding “towers.”

Mike – Thanks for spending a sad hour on the football bit. Why do the Thai’s provide the answers to the quiz? I can’t understand that at all.

Pete – Yes the mirror bit you mention is true, erotic I think they label it and lets be serious would a pretty Thai woman work in a room that didn’t have a mirror. No chance. I told Wilai about the eighteen year old bit and she said “bagmah.”

Lynne – I can see where the Argentina thought comes from but their stripes are vertical. Very clever with the chestnuts and good of you to remember my comment. Thanks.

Talen – I had my haircut which is where I obviously took the shot. I don’t know about America but most places in England a haircut is a five minute job. In Thailand they really do take pride in their work and I must have been sat in the chair for a good 20 minutes.

I knew of #2 (you had left a comment on my blog recently about discovering the availability of chestnuts, right?)… oh well! For #1 I couldn’t get Argentina out of my head, for some reason For #3, I was thinking massage rates, but it didn’t fit your clue… totally didn’t think of the barber – well done!

Martyn – I don’t know what establishments you frequented during your misspent youth, but allegedly mirrors are definitely not out of place, so rumour has it, allegedly, someone once told me many years ago. Mind you my memory (of the conversation) might be playing tricks on me.

You can tell Wilai that I thought it was her younger sister, she looks no more than 18 in that photo

(Is that worth a free Isaan mixed grill and a JD when I eventually find my way to Udon…)
