Udorn Sunshine Orchid Farm - One of the most popular things to do in Udon Thani is to visit Udorn Sunshine Orchid Farm, home to the world’s first orchid perfume, Miss Udorn Sunshine scent. Udorn Sunshine Orchid Farm has many varieties of hybrid Vanda orchids and dancing plants on display. Perfume and herbal Dancing Tea can be purchased from the farm shop.

Horse Racing at Udon Thani’s Intergames Park – For an afternoon’s action of sporting fun in the sun and shade, horse racing at Udon Thani’s Intergames Park really is a fantastic experience. It gets a big thumbs up from me and should appeal to both punters and non gamblers alike.

Udon Thani’s Nong Prajak Park – This is one of Udon Thani’s best known attractions and is a public park whose centrepiece is a huge lake which is surrounded by flower gardens.

Udon Thani Provincial Museum – An Old Relic and New Shoes - A review of Udon Thani’s museum which exhibits the history, archaeology, geology and culture of the city and province including artifacts from Ban Chiang and Phu Prabat .

Udon Thani’s Ban Chiang National Museum - Ban Chiang National Museum in Udon Thani Province is a World Heritage site and has archaeological findings from more than 5,000 years ago.

Wat Ban Na Kha Thevi
Ban Na Kha village is famous for its silk and cotton khit-style woven fabrics but there is also a charming temple with a giant-sized Golden Buddha there as well. Wat Ban Na Kha Thevi is worth viewing if you are visiting Udon Thani’s silk village and market.

Kamchanot
Kamchanot is a sacred Buddhist and Nāga temple site near Bang Dung and rates as one of the best things to do in Udon Thani. The site is 90 kilometres from Udon Thani city and 10 clicks from Bang Dung, but well worthy of a visit.

Nong Khai’s Tha Sadet Market – Nong Khai is a straight 50 kilometre ride from Udon Thani city and its riverside Tha Sadet market is a wonderful place to visit. The market sells just about anything and everything and has some great fish restaurants there too. Tha Sadet sits on the banks of the Mekong River and the city and its massive market are perfect for a short distance day trip or overnight stay.

Football in Udon Thani – If you love football then Udon Thani FC play at the Institute of Physical Education Football Stadium, not too far from the airport, and tickets to the games are available on match days and very cheap. The standard of football isn’t too bad and Udon Thani FC get a decent enthusiastic crowd turn up for each of their home games.
